Learn How to Warp in Minutes!

Every rigid-heddle project requires you to set up and warp your loom. While there are several methods for warping, the one every rigid-heddle weaver should know is the direct warping method. With this efficient method, you will warp your loom directly from your yarn put-up, with no warping board or extra winding required.

Direct warping works well for almost any weaving project and has the bonus of being fast. After a bit of practice, you can direct warp your loom for plain weave in under 20 minutes, so you can spend more time weaving.

In this mini-course, you’ll learn:

  • About the common weaving terms and tools
  • Each step in the direct warping process
  • How to thread for plain weave
  • Tricks for getting perfect tension
  • A quick and easy way to tie on
  • Plus, expert tips and advice

Once you enroll for free, you’ll have lifetime access to the video through your account. Please enjoy learning from these talented weavers!

A special note about this course:  These lessons were excerpted from some of these instructors’ most beloved video courses. Combined, they walk you through the entire direct warping process to help you go from an empty loom to ready-to-weave in no time.

As with any new skill, warping takes practice, but these expert weavers are ready to help you every step of the way.

The video lessons from Sara C. Bixler and Sara Goldenberg White were excerpted from previous courses from these teachers, and they are too good not to share! That’s why we created this mini-course to help you learn how to direct warp like a pro.

When you’re ready to start weaving, you’ll need:

  • Your rigid-heddle loom
  • Heddle of appropriate dent size
  • Packing paper or sticks
  • Shuttles
  • Tape Measure
  • Scissors: small and large
  • Yarn for your warp and weft
  • Draft or design you will be following
  • Threading hook
  • Warping Tools

Included in the course:

  • 30 minutes of video instruction
  • Additional resources and a bonus pattern
